Izard Weston has wide experience and expertise in all aspects of maritime law. This includes the traditional areas of admiralty practice, ship arrest, groundings, collisions, safe port/berth disputes, etc. Additionally, the firm has a significant general shipping litigation capability involving marine insurance, cargo claims and charter party disputes. We also have extensive expertise in the field of ship building and ship repair contracts.

The firm has been involved in the aftermath of all major shipping casualties occurring in New Zealand waters over recent decades, including Wahine, Pacific Charger, Dong Won 529, Jody F Millennium and Tai Ping.
