MEL REDDING
ASSOCIATE
Mel completed a conjoint degree of a Bachelor of Laws with Honours and a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Otago in 2016. She worked in the Wellington office of a national firm, specialising in employment law, before joining Izard Weston in early 2019.
Mel continues to specialise in employment law and has experience in handling personal grievances (for both employees and employers), redundancies, restructures and workplace change, serious misconduct and disciplinary processes, performance management processes, drafting employment agreements and workplace policies, and attending mediations. She has also undertaken independent investigations into workplace issues.
Mel also practises in the areas of maritime law, commercial law, and litigation/dispute resolution. She has extensive experience supporting clients and senior lawyers in the defence of regulatory prosecutions, especially under the Resource Management Act.
