Tom is a litigation lawyer with strengths in maritime, criminal and medico-legal law. He graduated LLB(Hons) from Victoria University of Wellington in 2015, where he was awarded the MLAANZ maritime law prize.
 
Prior to joining Izard Weston in early 2021, Tom worked as a medico-legal and criminal specialist with a respected New Zealand accident compensation firm, arguing cases at High Court and Court of Appeal level.

Tom practises in the areas of maritime law, and litigation/dispute resolution, as well as undertaking criminal defence work for clients faced with regulatory offences under legislation such as the Health and Safety at Work Act and the Maritime Transport Act.
